With 12 years of experience in various finance departments, and her exams long behind her, Katie joined the Sytrus team in 2022 and has hit the ground running. 

After a few years as a Sports Development Officer, Katie moved into the world of accountancy as a Purchase Ledger Assistant in 2010. She has worked as an Accountant or Financial Controller in various roles ever since, gaining experience in supporting a variety of industries including non-profit organisations along the way.

Katie has first-hand experience of the transformative effect an excellent finance function can have on organisations, saying “rather than just being a necessary function, the finance department can add huge amounts of value to a business; allowing companies to make solid business decisions and fulfill their potential” and we couldn’t feel more aligned on that view. 

As well as being so like-minded in their passion for the finance function, Sytrus and Katie were drawn to each other by their similar style of honest and clear communication and efficient style of problem solving. 

After hours, Katie spends the majority of her time with her two young children and also loves squeezing in time for house renovations and the odd game of football whenever possible.
